Nacre turns what you learn from AI into questions and asks them again at the right time. The short version: we keep your flashcards, not your conversations. This page explains exactly what that means.

What we keep

  • Your account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google or Apple.
  • What you chose to learn: the topics you save, the questions we write from them, your answers, and when each question should come back.
  • How Nacre adapts to you: the answers you give in setup (such as an age range and how long you want to spend each day), your streak, and how your reviews are going. You can see and change this in the app under Profile, "What Nacre knows about you".
  • The waitlist: if you join it, your email address and the date you joined, so we can let you in and email you when it's your turn.

What we don't keep

  • Your conversations. When you say "save this to Nacre" in Claude, Claude sends us a short summary of what you learned, not the chat. If you import past chats, we read the ones you tick once, then throw them away.
  • Anything in the background. We never read your AI accounts on our own, and there is no browser extension watching your chats. Nothing is saved unless you ask.

The Claude connector

When you add Nacre to Claude, you sign in to Nacre and press Allow. From then on Claude can use four things: save what you learned, quiz you, show today's questions, and check an answer. Claude only sends us what those need: the summary you asked it to save, or the answer you gave. You can disconnect Nacre in Claude's settings at any time.

Personal and work details

We ask the AI to leave out personal details (health, money, relationships, names of private people) and anything confidential about your work when it writes your questions.

No training, no selling, no reading

Your data is not used to train AI models, is not sold, and is not read by people on our side. The AI provider we use, Anthropic, does not train its models on what we send it.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and runs no tracking or advertising scripts. The app stores your sign-in on your device so you stay signed in.

How long we keep it

Your learning data stays while you have an account. When you delete your account, everything is removed for good. Waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to remove them.

Your choices and rights

  • Download: Settings, "Download my data" gives you everything we hold.
  • Delete: Settings, "Delete account" removes it all.
  • Correct or ask: email us and we'll help, usually within a few days.

If you're in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Age

Nacre is for people 13 and over. We ask for an age range, never your birthday. Suggestions of what to learn next are off by default for 13 to 17 year olds.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
